
BAGHDAD: Insurgents killed at least nine people in Iraq on Tuesday, including four policemen in the northern city of Mosul, security officials said.Gunmen fired on a group of eight policemen as they were on their way to work in Mosul, said a local police officer who declined to give his name.Four of them were killed and the others were wounded, he said, adding the attack took place in the city's western Al-Amil neighbourhood.Iraqi and US commanders say Mosul, where security forces are carrying out a series of military assaults targeting the jihadists, is the last urban bastion of Al-Qaeda.In Baghdad, five people were killed and 15 wounded in a car bomb attack in the capital's Al-Jihad neighbourhood, a security official with the defence ministry said.Violence in Iraq is at a four-year low but insurgents have still managed to carry out attacks in the country despite sweeping military operations by security forces.
