London, Nov 6 : English rock band Status Quo have successfully raised 100,000 pounds by auctioning paintings and drawings of their singles and album covers created by musicians, artists and stars.
The legendary band joined the art world after asking a host of celebrity pals to create paintings inspired by the group and its hits for charity.
Wildlife artist David Shepherd''s Heavy Traffic picture was the most popular which was sold for 17,000 pounds, reports the Mirror.
The list of celebs who contributed their works included Fern Britton, Alice Cooper, Fiona Phillips, Brian May, Harry Hill, Rolf Harris, the cast of Coronation Street and stars from Chelsea and Liverpool football clubs. (ANI)
