ISLAMABAD:A Presidential spokesperson on Monday rejected the report run by an Indian channel as “malicious and baseless” claiming that President Asif Ali Zardari may replace Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, while transferring all presidential powers to the prime minister.
The spokesman said that in a democracy all decisions are taken by the parliament as it is the soverign authority. He said democracy has taken firm roots in the country and was gaining strength.
He said all constitutional institutions were functioning according to the mandate given to them and the President and the prime Minister will continue to play their role as provided in the constitution.
