
ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister, Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that Pakistan needed trade ties more than aids.Following talks with the German foreign minister, while addressing a joint press conference, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the German government has been requested to lend support to Pakistan in the European Union. He said that the economic, political and military ties were focused in the talks. Qureshi said that the ministerial level ties between both the countries have been proposed and added that Germany was the major trade partner of Pakistan, we were eager to boost trade with it. He said that Germany would set up a Science and Technology University in Lahore.Addressing the press conference, German Foreign Minister, Frank Walter said that we would support Pakistan in IMF. He said that both Pakistan and Germany wanted peace in Afghanistan. German FM said that his country would continue helping Pakistan in economic and education sectors besides peace in the region. He said that his tour aimed at assuring better Pak-German ties and Germany believed in long-term ties. He further said that trade between the two countries would be bolstered.
